Cookie Policy
Effective date: 2026-05-01 Last updated: 2026-08-10
This Cookie Policy explains how Main Street IQ LLC ("we," "us," "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on mainstreetiq.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
If you have questions, email privacy@mainstreetiq.com.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences, measure how the site is used, and integrate features from third-party services. "Similar technologies" includes pixels, tags, web storage, and SDKs that work the same way for our purposes.
2. Cookies we use
We group cookies into three categories.
Strictly necessary
These run the site. Without them, basic features will not work. We do not need consent for these because they are essential to deliver what you asked for (loading the page, holding form state, security).
| Cookie / technology | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session and security cookies | Main Street IQ | Page load, form integrity, basic protections | Session |
Cloudflare cookies (__cf_bm, cf_clearance) |
Cloudflare | Bot detection, security | Session to 30 days |
Analytics
These help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not use analytics cookies for advertising. They currently load when the page loads: we do not show a consent banner and we do not gate them behind a consent signal. Section 3 covers how to turn them off from your side.
| Cookie / technology | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* |
Google Analytics 4 | Aggregate usage metrics, page views, sessions. IPs are anonymized; no cross-site advertising linkage. | Up to 2 years |
Functional / third-party embeds
We embed a few external tools so you can interact with us. These tools may set their own cookies when you actively use them.
| Tool | When it loads | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Calendly | When you open a meeting-booking widget or click a Calendly link | Lets you book a meeting on Scott's calendar |
| Zoho Forms | When you submit the contact form or Strategic Brief intake | Sends form data to our CRM |
What we do NOT use
- No advertising cookies
- No retargeting pixels (Meta, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, Google Ads)
- No cross-site behavioral tracking
- No session-replay tools (Hotjar, FullStory)
- No A/B testing platforms that fingerprint visitors
3. Your choices
Your browser
You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site may not work.
Opt out of Google Analytics
Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser settings. Either one stops the analytics described above.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) and "Do Not Track"
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we run no advertising or retargeting cookies at all, so there is no ad-tracking opt-out to honor. We do not currently detect the Global Privacy Control signal or Do Not Track headers to switch analytics off. If you send either signal and want analytics off as well, use one of the browser options above. We would rather say that plainly than claim a control we have not built.
4. Changes
If we add, remove, or materially change a cookie or tracking technology, we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date. For material changes affecting active clients, we will email notice at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
